In this position you drive Communication, Culture & Change projects within Finance and beyond Finance. Focus on the I2P (Purchase to Pay) and the associated end-to-end processes, making sure that GBS and Finance are well-connected to the organization and can focus on its operations in close cooperation with its customers. Also, Drive Communication, Culture & Change projects within Finance and including non-Finance Stakeholders (other functions and mainly Business leaders) to drive maturity on Finance processes in specific countries of the EMEA region.

Focus on:

  • Support leadership in defining the from/to’s and what success looks like
  • Set up project plans including communication and change deliverables to support these changes using the central communication and CM approach, tools and materials and adapt materials when necessary to tailor it to the specific needs of GBS (Global Business Services), Finance and functions as well as customers
  • Manage stakeholders and work closely with project/leadership teams. Collaborate with the countries in focus, with GBS Sites and Regional Communication, Culture and Change teams making sure they align, execute and renew
  • Work closely with the relevant stakeholder teams, co-creating an overarching plan and change story to ensure it is aligned and executed in a seemless manner
  • Maintain and innovate the comms and Change Management approach, tools and materials


  1. Process excellence: use the central communications and change management approach, tools and materials in the best possible way and tailor it, make it fit for purpose where required. Set up a detailed project plan that covers communication and change management activities, in line with our approach
  2. Project Management: support and guide the project team
  3. Capability building: train, coach, support and educate project team members and line management, Culture & Change network members, Human Resources and communication colleagues on our AkzoNobel Change Management approach and materials
  4. Change storyline: Define through collaboration and co-creation the overall change story. Fully understanding the from/to, what success looks like, what metrics we will use to measure our progress
  5. Culture & Change interventions: facilitate team nudges, High Performance Team sessions, Endings and beginnings: different types of ‘interventions’, trainings, workshops or activities in support of the change journey of different teams and project teams

There are 2 options:

  • working as a contractor: max. €110k/year
  • working as a freelancer: max. €100,-/hr (all-in)


  • University or Master degree plus at least 5 years experience in Change Management or Human Resources/Project Management
  • Competent professional with the ability to provide operational CM input
  • Passion for the people side of organizational change
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Organizational sensitivity
  • Can deal with ambiguity and complexity
  • Able to translate theory into practice and the other way around
  • Experience in multinational matrix organization
  • Excellent communicator, both in communication with specialists and with main stakeholders
  • Fluent in English
