The Position
As a Firmware Engineer, your involvement spans the entire software development process, from defining requirements to maintaining the created software. Throughout the development cycle, you take ownership of your design and offer support to team members, collaborators, and users integrating your software into their products.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Refining requirements
- Designing, developing, and testing firmware
- (Technically) documenting the software, with a focus on safety-related components
- Proper use of tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc.
- Providing support for testing and issue resolution
- Identifying potential process and product improvements and actively implementing them
The Department
The HC-CS/XCT department oversees the development of control units for heating appliances. It has established several SAFe trains comprising multidisciplinary Scrum teams responsible for hardware (mechanical and electrical) and software (control application and embedded) development
- Based on experience
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Experience in software design
- Proficiency in software development using C/C++ or similar languages
- Familiarity with configuration management, software development tool chains, and debugging environments
- Ability to write product software specifications and (internal) technical documentation
- Proactive attitude, accuracy, and pragmatism
- Completed BSc or MSc education in embedded software or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded software development
- Proficiency in English
- Familiarity with agile working procedures (Scrum/Kanban)
- Independence, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a commitment to quality
