About this vacancy

Backend developer (pipelines and models)

We are looking for a (senior) back-end developer with affinity for big data and microservices. You work together with other developers on web-based software and services that are part of a data pipeline. These are used both internally and externally, giving domain experts and customers insights into their operation and helping them in their day-to-day jobs.

The department develops digital products for business units (BU) in Marine Power, Marine Systems and Energy. We use a common technology stack to generate insight from operational data, to make for example predictive maintenance- or efficiency optimisation products. We are growing from around 100 to 120 professionals. The department consists of around 15 agile teams organised in 4 tribes, with clear focus areas, led by Chief Product Owners. As a back-end developer you will be part of one of the agile teams and will develop and maintain our digital products.

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • You participate in the development of our data pipeline, databases and APIs.
  • You create and maintain our streaming data pipeline.
  • Align implementation efforts with other developers across multiple development teams.
  • Collaborate together with data scientists in the team to reach the shared goal.
  • You participate in the setup of monitoring for data pipeline status and data quality.
